The Monsoon Cup, one of the original stadium sailing events, is one of sailing’s model regattas. The final round on the calendar of the World Match Racing Tour (WMRT), was designed with a commerical business model to promote and benefit a wide variety of stakeholders.
Malaysia Airlines – Official Airline of the Monsoon Cup
Tourism is one of the key industries to be promoted by the Monsoon Cup. The event is staged at Ri-Yaz Heritage Marina Resort and Spa, Kuala Terengganu with sponsors like Malaysia Airlines (MAS) helping to position the region to an international audience.
Malaysia Airlines will be the official airline sponsor for the Monsoon Cup this year, replacing its subsidiary Firefly. In the strategic partnership as official carrier, MAS will provide air transportation for the sailors, the race committee, international umpires, and members of the media flying in and out for the Monsoon Cup.

Telekom Malaysia Berhad – Official Telecommunications Provider
TM today will once again be the Official Telecommunications Provider for the Monsoon Cup in 2011. The participation of TM in the event makes it the longest standing corporate sponsor of the event.
The contribution of the company includes equipping the event’s media center with telecommunications facilities including internet access and capability for live international telecasts. The infrastructure is backed by highly skilled personnel to provide support during the tournament.
