Sponsorship is a funny thing. While much attention is given to the big title deals, there are a million ways to cut the cake and selling off sector based sponsorships is one way to get extra cash. NASCAR have over 40 official sponsors including categories like (and we are not making these up) – ‘Official cheese filled snacks’ and ‘Official petfood’.
Louis Vuitton, the long time partner of the America’s Cup would shudder to think that America’s Cup Sponsorship might go this way, but US SAILING has announced that Old Pulteney will become the Official Scotch of US SAILING.
The deal includes direct financial support for US SAILING, support for select Adult National Championships and Speaker Series events.
Jack Gierhart, Executive Director of US SAILING said:
“We are excited to have Old Pulteney on board with US SAILING. Their support will help us expand our Speaker Series, strengthen our adult championships and enhance the social aspect of these events.”
Pat Graney, President, International Beverage USA said:
“We at Old Pulteney are proud to share our brand’s rich heritage and fine expressions with adult sailors participating in US SAILING events. This is a very special opportunity for Old Pulteney to be part of the US SAILING community.”
Old Pulteney has a long standing association with sailing. The brand is also sponsoring the 80th Edition of the J P Asset Management Round the Island Race.
Margaret Mary Clarke, Senior Brand Manager, Old Pulteney Single Malt Whisky said:
Old Pulteney Single Malt Whisky has an incredible maritime heritage and as a keen supporter of UK yacht racing and sailing is delighted to continue as a race partner of the J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race in its 80th year.
